The Hague Arbitration Tribunal delivered a verdict against Germany’s claim that she was entitled since 1924, to deduct from the Dawes annuities, the value of German property liquidated or sequestrated by Allied countries, under authority of the Treaty of Versailles. The British Empire was interested >to the extent of thirty millions sterling. MAKURA CROQUET CLUB. The annual meeting of the Makura Croquet Club was held yesterday afternoon. Members generally congratulated the Secretary and Treasurer upon the financial aspect. Thp election of officers resulted as follows :—Captain, Mrs Thomas (reelected) ; deputy-captain, Mrs D. Tennent (re-elected); secretary, Mrs Mercer (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs P. Hambleton; committee : Mesdames McKay, Saywell, Whibley, A. Smith and Captain, Deputy Captain, Secretary and Treasurer ex officio. Trophies for the season were presented as follow Championship singles, Mrs D. Tennent; championship doubles, Mesdaines D. Tennent and Saywell; trophy donated by Mrs D. Tennent, Mrs Whibley; trophy donated by Mrs T. Jones, Mrs A. Smith ; trophy donated by Mrs C. A. Legge. Mrs A.i Phillips; trophy donated by Mrs Mercer, Mrs Saywell; junior championship singles, Mrs A. Phillips; runners-up, Mrs C. Haglund.
