The Greymouth Hospital originally stood on the sitje now occupied by the Post Office, but it was removed in 1875 to the present site of three acres, and has gradually- increased in size with the passing of the years and the growth of the town and district. The Jubilee wing was erected with funds raised at a carnival during Queen Victoria’s Jubilee year, while another wing was erected in 1905, at a cost of £3,500. During recent years those fine buildings, the Old People’s; Home and the Nurses’ Home, have been constructed.
