U.S.A.’S LATEST MURDER
LITTLE GIRL AS VICTIM. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, January 13. A message from Flint Michigan, says that one of the most brutal crimes in the history of the States, is inciting hundreds to search for the killer of a live-year-old girl, who was kiduapped in an automobile when on her way home from school. The body was later found mutilated, and part scattered in the bed of a stream. The murderer is believed to be an elderly man. The condition of the body causes the police to believe that the killer is skilled in surgery. Several suspects have been arrested and freed by the police. CONDEMNED MAN INSANE. LONDON, January 14. John Rowlands, one of the three men condemned to death (for the murder of a footballer) has lost his reason and will he confined to Broad- | moon. Asylum. i There is considerable criticism of the delay of thirty-seven days in the hearing of the appeals, which were dismissed on Thursday. That it is stated was due to the intervention of the Christmas holidays. Newspapers declare that it is not in accordance with British justice that there should be such a long delay, and consequent suspence. The other two men were taken to Cardiff to await execution. HUSBAND ARRESTED. ADELAIDE, January 16. Following the discovery in the sea at Semaphore, of the body of Mrs. Hamilton, the husband, Alec John Hamilton, has been arrested and charged with murder.
