EXHIBITION WRECKED
FACISTI V. BOJuSHEVEKI. (Avsti-alian and N.Z. Cable Association.) BRUSSELS, January 12. A gang of several scores of Fascists invaded the Soviet Exhibition. The leader blew a whistle, and a portion of the gang pinned the attendants while the remainder started wrecking the Exhibition. Lenin’s bust was the first thing smashed, while the busts of other Soviet leaders, crashed to the floor. Paintings were cut with knives, and tables, draperies and windows were destroyed. Confusion reigned, and amid cries of “Down with the Soviets,” mirrors and vases were broken and books torn up. The wreckers explained that they belonged to the “League of National Youth,” and had organised the raid as a. protest against the lying descriptions of an ideal Soviet state; also the revolting pictures dealing with Russia under the Tsars.
