BUSH FIRES
DAMAGE IN AUSTRALIA. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, January 12. Bush fires are sweeping through the Otway and Dandenong Ranges causing extensive damage. A number ol homesteads were destroyed, and much valuable timber in the beech forest is demolished. Several townships were only saved by a fortunate change o wind. m HOBART, January 12. Bush fires are raging in the southern parts of the Huon district, and on the West Coast, causing heavy damage.
