(Per Press Aaaociatlon.) BOY CYCLIST KILLED. OTAKI, January 13. Bobby Mason, the seven year old grandson of the Mayor of Otaki, J. P. Brandon, fell from his bicycle yesterday, and cut his leg. He was admitted to the hospital, but later died. BABY DROWNED IN CASK. GISBORNE, January 11. While playing at the back door of his mother’s home, \ Norman Douglas Bimbler ,the two-year-old son of Doris Bimbler, fell into a ten gallon cask of water and was drowned. The child was missed only a few minutes and was found head down in a cask; A doctor was summoned, but life was extinct. UNEMPLOYEDS’ DEMAND. CHRISTCHURCH, January 12. A number of unemployed to-day declared their hostility to the action of the North Canterbury Hosiptal and Charitable Aid Board, in asking men who receive relief to work for it in return. A resolution was carried that the demand be refused as “illegal and unconstitutional.” This attitude, however, represents the state of mind of a small minority of those seeking work.

Mr Bennett (Palnierston North) and Mr South (Wellington) were appointed to represent the Association at the fifth annual conference of the Associated Booksellers of Australia. and New Zealand, to be held in Adelaide in March.
