SHIPS’ CREWS RE-SIGN. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, December 9. The crews of a number of steamers which could not be assembled yesterday. signed on for to-day. There is tremendous activity everywhere on the waterfront, and everything is proceeding smoothly. The Rona’s dispute lias been settled, the men being remanded for a week under a proviso that no action would bo taken against them if the steamer sailed in the meantime with a full crew. The men signed an agreement to that effect. The end of the strike has released large supplies of new potatoes, so that the market is glutted. Prices fell from £l3 per ton to £6 per ton. Then they rose again to £8 for the choicer varieties, while for tlie other classes the prices dropped as low as £4 per ton.
