KILLED BY TRAIN. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 28. A young man, William Nimmo, fell between the carriages at Plimmerton on Saturday evening, and was killed instantaneously. He was only 21, and intended staying at the seaside. The accident is stated to have occurred through Nimmo leaving the train while still in. motion. A number of other week-end accidents are also reported. Chas. Rawlinson, an inmate of the Home of Compassion, dose 4 off while smoking in a dormitory in the grounds, set his bedding alight, and was severely burned. ’ ' ■ A small boy, J. As the result of a collision between two motor cycles at Otahuhu on Sunday, Henry George Stephan Shepherd, 53, of' Howick, died in the hospital. The other cyclist, Ernest Rodgers, of Remuera, escaped unhurt. EX-M.P. FOUND SHOT.

WAIPUKURAU, November 28. The body of Charles Lewis, a resident and settler of the district, formerly M.P. for Christchurch and Courtenay, was found this morning outside the window of a room of his home, with a rifle between his legs, a shot having passed through the mouth and the back of the head. Lately he had been in a weak state of health. The family heard the shot fired about seven o’clock, death being instantaneous. He leaves a widow, four daughters and three sons. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. AUCKLAND, November 26. A fatal accident occurred at Otahuhu at midday, when an elderly man riding, a motor cycle collidedx with another motor cyclist. He sustained a fractured skull, and died on admission to the hospital. Deceased’s identity has not yet been established.
