FERRY DISASTER

• AWAITING THE TAHTTT. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.)

SYDNEY, November'24.

When the Greycliffe inquiry was resumed to-day, Mr Justice Campbell granted an application to adjourn till the return of the steamer Tahiti to Svdney on December 28.

Mr Holman, supporting the application, said it was desirable that the Tahiti’s captain and chief engineer should be heard by the Court before the latter came to its finding.

Dr Brissenden said that the Union Company was anxious to place all its evidence before the Court, as it presumed the finding would involve an inference of censure on somebody. ' Mr Justice Campbell explained that the Court’s finding would be in the nature of a report. It was not his duty to apportion blame. There would be no penalty except as regards inferences which may be drawn. A diver to-day recovered the body of another victim, Edmund Conner, of Watson’s Bay, from the GreycTlffe wreck. A diver located a second body, but was unable to extricate it.
