The Mawhera and Hokitika ladies met in a Brooks Clip match at Victoria Park yesterday afternoon, the game fieipg playedas a cuijtain.raiser to the Rugby representative .game. The teams were well -matched and the one-goal draw reflects the play. Miss N. Furness scored for jjfawhera, and ;Miss O. Stapleton .equalised for Hokitika. The result of this matc.h practically assures the meeting of Mawhera and Buller in the iCup (final.
The Runanga and United teams also met in a Brooks Cup fixture at the Recreation ground’ yesterday. Only one goal was scored, and Runanga won, the scorer being Miss L. Wright. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ August 30. The annual tournament of the Dominion Ladies’ Hockey Association was continued this afternoon, s a (heavy .thunderstorm unfortunately marring the tail end of .the .day’s play. Additional results were: Ruahine A 7 beat Wairarapa 2, Manawatu A 6 .beat (Wellington 2, Eeilding mil draw with Ruahine B nil. South .Canterbury 1 beat Ruahine B nil, .Southland 5 beat King Country nil.
MATCHES POSTPONED PALMERSTON N„ Sept. 1. A meeting of the Hockey Tournament Committee decided to postpone matches fixed to-;day till to-morrow. The North v. South Island match will be postponed. Friday’s fixtures will be played on Saturday. Rain is still falling.

(Australian and N.Z.’Cable Association.) SYDNEY, August 31. The New Zealand hockey team won its final match ip Australia to-day, against a Sydney team. The New Zealand team comprised Fletcher, L. Spiers, Soper, Mahqpey, Morris, Hore, Ruorford, Seccombe, Bell, Watts and H. Spi(|rn. The team defeated was the Sydney Metropolitan eleven. Soon after the commencement, Bell scored, giving the New Zealanders (he lead. Fletcher made a clever save frqm a strong Metropolitan attack, kicking the bail from the goal to mid-, field. The New Zealanders immediate-, ly -made a strong attack, forcing the gapie, and strongly besieging the local goal, but they hit too hard to score. At .half time the sepre was: New Zealand 1, Metropolitan nil. In the second half .the .New Zealanders concerted their forces in a determined : att,ack on the local goal, and twice scored. After a strong rally, Metropolitan carried the attack to .the enemy stronghold and scored, making the total: New Zealand 3, Metropolitan 1. Immediately after, another strong local attack resulted in a further score. The last few minptes of the game weye stubbornly .contested, Metropolitan making a .despeyate but unavailing .e.ffort, apd .the game ,eyded: New Zealand 3, Metropolitan 2. The scores in the second naif were' Seccombe and Watts, one goal each.
A GREAT RECORD.
SYDNEY, September 1.
The New Zealand hockey .team finished the tour of Australia with an unbeaten record. They played fourteen games, won twelve, drew two, and scored 109 goals, while fifteen were scored against them. • The “Herald” says: Their performance is the best of any Dominion hotkey team that has pljpyed in Australia.
