SHIPPING NOTES. The Kittawa sailed yesterday for Miramar and Wellington, with coal, timber and general cargo. The Waipori sailed for Auckland yesterday, with a cargo of coal for Auckland.

The Kaimai is loading timber and coal for Wellington and Miramar. The Kamona left Auckland on Saturday for Greymouth direct, with general cargo. After discharge she loads coal and timber for Wellington. The Kaimai leaves Wellington with general cargo about next Thursday. After discharge she will load coal for return thence. The Gabriella is loading a full cargo of timber for Sydney. She is expected to sail on Thursday. The Tees is in the lagoon dock undergoing her annual overhaul. She will be floated out to-day, and will load a cargo t of timber for Wellington, sailing thence for Chatham Islands. The Orepuki is due to-night from Lyttelton, via Wellington, Nelson and Westport,-with general cargo. After discharge she loads coal for Nelson. The Alexander, with a cargo of coal for New Plymouth, sailed yesterday. Mr. C. G. Welch has been appointed acting second officer of the Opihi, relieving Mr. W. Kehoe. The latter officer is joining the Poolta as second officer, relieving Mr. R. Allan, who will await instructions. Once a famous windjammer, the White Pine is now a coal hulk at Melbourne. She was a barque of 467 tons, built in 1879 for the Craig Line as the Hazel Craig. Later given the name of White Pine, she ran in the timber trade between Australia and New Zealand, making several trips to Greymouth until sold in 1921 for a hulk.

WATERSIDE DISPUTE. (Per Press Association A GISBORNE, June 12. After a lengthy meeting of the local Disputes' Committee on Friday evening, which was attended by representatives of the shipping companies and Waterside Workers’ Union, no settlement of the dispute in connection with the loading of the Port Auckland was arrived at. A call was made for labour at eight a.m. on Saturday, but the result was similar to the previous call, no labour offering. The cargo was returned to the store, and the vessel sailed at 3 p.m. for Wanganui, with only a small portion of Gisborne freight on board. The cargo returned to the store comprised about 2800 carcases of mutton, and 1400 boxes of butter from the Kafti Works, and about the same number of carcases from the Nelson Works. RIVERINA PURCHASED. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn.) SYDNEY, June 13. A syndicate has purchased the stranded Riverina for £2225, including the cargo and coal aboard. The purchasers propose to refloat the vessel, and are hopeful to have her running again in a few weeks.
