MARIETTE
GRAND FAREWELL TO-MORROW. To-morrow is your absolutely last chance of witnessing this clever Holder-Conway production staged in aid of the New Ambulance Fund. To date the' show is easily the best amateur effort produced for years, and deserves all the success that has attended it. The members of the Canadian Soccer team have been invited to be present, and the company is all out to make to-morrow night memorable. To-night the company is going to Runanga in a veritable fleet of cars, kindly loaned by various ladies and gentlemen, to play in the Miners’ Hall. On Wednesday “Mariette” will be staged at the Princess Theatre, Hokitika. Bumper houses should reward the artists for the pains taken. It is to be sincerely hoped Messrs Graeme-Holder and Conway will come back here again at some later date, and give us another of the former’s plays. At the invitation of some prominent Blackball citizens, however, a visit was paid to the theatre, and the producers were quite satisfied that the show could be staged in its entirety, hence no time was lost in booking the dates, and “Mariette,” therefore, will be staged on Friday next, June 17-
