(Australian & N.Z. Cable Aean.) aborigines sentenced. DARWIN, June 13. Three aborigines concerned in the attack on the Crocodile Mission were each sentenced to three years’ imprisonment. 'rhe Judge said that discipline was necessary at missions and the punishment for certain offences ■whs justified. STATE SURVEYORS. PERTH, June 13. The State Government’s recent appointment of six surveyors from New Zealand, has brought a protest from the West Australian Institute of Surveyors. The President of the New Zealand Institute states that the men accepted the positions in ignorance of tire conditions prevailing in the State. Afire New Zealand body has been informed by the Westralian President, that young surveyors here had refused the positions on the salary offered, which were lately reduced below the minimum paid in- other States. The President, said that in some instances, the surveyors -were paid less than their motor drivers.
