INDUSTRIAL MISSION

MEMBERS AT VARIANCE. lAustralian & N.Z. Cable Assn.) WASHINGTON. June 11. The final meeting of the Australian Industrial Mission was held heie. Mi Grayndler was absent. It is understood that heated exchanges occurred regarding Mr Grayndler’s general inattention to the mission’s meetings. It is stated authoiitativelv that members are prepared to place progress reports on the table if Messrs Grayndler and Mclnnes. will do likewise, but no action was taken. It is believed that Grayndler and Mclnnes are making the excuse that they have insufficient data. In the hope of placating them and securing an unanimous report, the mission resolved to inform Mr Bruce that owing to insufficient information, it was unable to complete the report in America, and had adjourned to San Francisco. Mr Munden stated that he was personally prepared to finalize his report before leaving America. It is difficult, to understand the complaint of insufficient data, after three months’ intensive travelling and three weeks in Washington, where Government officials and the Federation of Labour were anxious to supply abundant information. Mr Mclnnes joined Mr Grayndler in the complaint of the mission tour having been through mostly open shops, but members had always decided the itinerary. The mission leaves to-morrow for Pittsburg, en route to ’Frisco.
