INDIAN FRONTIER

AIRMEN DEFEAT RAIDERS. 6 (Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn.) DELHI, June 12. The revival of tribal unrest on the North Indian frontier, near Peshawur, was successfully quelled by bombing operations of the Royal Air Force raiding the tribesmen, fifteen hundred strong, from north of the Kabul River, who crossed the frontier and attacked the Mahmand forts, held by tribes friendly to Britain. Nineteen planes made attacks during four days on the hostile tribes, inflicting many casualties, and creating an excellent moral effect. AH the machines returned safely. The achievement is regarded as magnificent in view of the fact that the temperature was over 110. This was the first attack in eight years on the frontier posts in the Peshawur district.
