SHIPPING NOTES. The Kaponga sailed yesterday»with a cargo of coal for Auckland, via Westport. The Kanna is loading a cargo of timber for Melbourne, and sails via Westport to complete. The Ihumata arrived yesterday from Koutu. She loads a cargo of timber for Sydney. The Kaimai arrived yesterday from Wellington with general cargo. She loads coal, timber and general cargo and returns thither. -

The Kittawa is due from Wellington next Friday. She loads a cargo of coal and returns.

The Parera is due next Saturday from Gisborne. She loads a cargo of coal for Gisborne.

The Opihi is due about next Saturday from Westport to complete a cargo of coal for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Kaitangata leaves Wellington next Saturday and loads coal at Grey mouth for return.

The Grey Harbour Board’s Dredge Mawhera arrived yesterday from Wellington, after overhaul. The Waimea sailed yesterday morning for New Plymouth with a full cargo of coal.

The Alexander leaves Wellington tomorrow for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth with general cargo. After discharge she loads coal for Wanganui. The Orepuki leaves Timaru to-day, and Lyttelton on Monday, for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth, with general cargo. After discharge she loads coal for Tarakohe.

SCOW ASHORE. (Per Press Association 1 AUCKLAND, May 14. The 26-ton auxiliary scow Scott was stranded on Waipu Beach on Friday afternoon owing to its rudder chain breaking after she Tiad crossed the bar.. The vessel was en route to Auckland with a cargo of sand. She is reported to be undamaged. The crew are camped on the beach nearby, and hope to float her at the next tide on Saturday. RIVERINA MISHAP. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn. ‘ SYDNEY, May 15. A further attempt to refloat the Riverina has failed. Another effort will be made at next high tide.
