BULLER 12 V. WEST COAST 3. (Per Press Association.) WESTPORT, May 14. The Rugby League inter-provincial match. Buller versus West Coast, was played here on Victoria Square this afternoon, in the presence of a considerable gathering of spectators. After a bright exposition of the League code, the game was won by Buller by 12 points to, 3. For Buller, A. McElwoe and Clarke scored tries, C. McElwee converting one and also kicking two penalty goals. For West Coast, O’Brien scored a try. WEST COAST 11; INANGAHUA 0. West Coast met Inangahua on the Reefton Racecourse yesterday on their return from Buller. There was a fair attendance and a good exhibition of the code was given. The Coast team showed improved form on their game on Saturday and handled much better. Bissell (2) and Hogg scored tries for the Coast, R. Quinn converted one try. KOTUKU II (16) V. GREY II (5). Playing at Cobden yesterday, Kotuku, having the more weighty team, prevailed over Grey by 16 to 5. Kotuku were lucky in scoring two of their tries. For Kotuku tries were scored by Taylor, Olsen Southern and Priest. Conversion of Olsen’s try was made by Kennedy, who also kicked a penalty. For Grey. Gordon scored a try which Kiddy failed to convert. Kiddy secured a penalty making the scores Kotuku 16; Grey 5. C. Hall was referee. RUNANGA II (24); BRUNNER (2). Playing at Dunollie, the home team easily defeated Brunner in a fast and open game by 24 to 2. BLACKBALL II (14); MARIST II (8). Playing at Blackball before a large attendance, the home team had a good win over Marist 11, having the better of the play throughout, and winning by 14 t'o 8. GREY 111 (36); KOTUKU 111 (0). strong team, put up a cricket score against Kotuku thirds, registering 36 to nil. The country team lacked knowledge of the game and kicked far too much. For Grey, R. Bond (3), Lynch (2), N. Barbara (2), 1-1 artshorn, J. Bond and Twohill got tries, whilst Lynch (2), and Bond (1) kicked goals. A. Fielding was referee. MARIST IV (24) V. GREY IV (0). Marist IV met Grey IV at Cobden, and had an easy win by 24 to nil. BLACKBALL 111 (S); RUNANGA (2) At Blackball the home 111 met Runanga and again ran out winners by 8 to 2. RUNANGA IV (28); BRUNNER (8). Playing at Dunollie yesterday. Runanga were far too good for Brunner, securing victory by 28 to S. B.BALL V. (12) v. RUNANGA V (6). At. Dunollie on Saturday, Blackball beat Runanga V by 12 to 6. RUNANGA VI (6) v. B.BALL VI (3). Runanga VI played Blackball VI at Dunollie on Saturday, the game resulting in a win for Runanga by 3 points. J. Masters scoring both tries for the winners. CHRISTCHURCH MATCHES.
