OPERA HOUSE. Swinging along in his rollicking comedy-melodrama, 'with another cracker-jack story to back up the great popularity of rider and horse, Fred Thomson and Silver King climb to new heights of meniment, speed and suspense in “The Bandit’s Baby,” which comes to the Opera House to-night. A plot with more than the usual amount of intense action furnishes Thomsjtm a’nd his mount with a great opportunity, of which they avail themselves to the full. Silver King is a real “horse laugh” all the way ,and if that steed hasn’t a sense of humour, then Pegasus was a truck horse I Ten episodes, each more exciting than its predecessor, is said to describe “The Ace of Spades,” a new serial which is coming to the Opera House to-night, with William Desmond as the star. SUNDAY NIGHT. “Sky High to be shown at the Sunday might picture benefit in the Opera House, with Acord in the stellar saddle, is all that Western fans could possibly wish for. Tickle, and L. Smithson had a hard task in selecting the successful costumes. At midnight, their decisions were announced as follow: Ladies’ Fancy Mrs O’Connor, (“Buy Empire Goods”); Gents’ Fancy. Mr G. Biggs (“Native”); Ladies’ Comic, Mrs Waterson (“Frolic”); Gents’ Comic, Mr Wm. Caldwell, (“Country Bumpkin”). Later in the evening a “Spot Light” dance was put on and resulted in Miss Howard and Mr L. Hughes being declared the winners. Others present were: — Mr and Mrs T. Marsh, Mr and Mrs W. Dezuzzi, A. Maniago, J. Beazatti, S. Manderson, W. McNeish, E. McCarthy, A. MacDonald, J. Morron, O’Neil. A tasty supper was supplied by the ladies’ committee. The secretarial duties were undertaken by Mr Geo. Tickle. Messrs J. McPhee and C. Hilton were popular M.C.’s. The music was well rendered by Mr C. Chadwick.
