NO OTHER CLOTHES
SEAMAN’S UNIFORM WORN.

AUCKLAND, May 13.
Because he was not a person serving in. His Majesty’s Naval Forces, and unlawfully wore a uniform without the permission of the GovernorGeneral, Cecil Walter Stanton, a young man, was arraigned before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court this morning. He pleaded guilty. On his behalf, Mr Clarke (Probation Officer) stated that Stanton joined the Navy when he was T 7 years old, but about two years ago he was discharged as “unsuitable.” He resided with his mother at Takapuna, his mother having to keep her family on a very small income. “He was wearing a portion of a. uniform out.of sheer necessity.” said Mr Clarke. “He did not have any other clothes.. Stanton, had not been at work for two years.” “'I have been unable to get a job,” he said. “I suppose I will have to go out ahd work on a farm, that’s all.”
Mr Hunt said that he would not inflict any penalty. Stanton would be convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within six months. During that time he would.be under the wing of Mr Campbell.
