BRIGHT SCHOOL MAGAZINE. The “Otirian,” is a magazine produced by children of the Otira School. They can sMely claim their liiagaziiie to be the first to be. produced by primary school pupils oil the. Coast.

“The Otirian” consists of 30 pages and with a cleverly designed cover depicting the Otira Tuniiel, and the various fields of study and school sport. The magazine has been contributed to entirely by boys and girls of the school and the material selected by the sub-editors is of high standard and deals with all branches of the school’s activities. On its pages one reads of successes and failures in examinations, on the field of sport at Rugby, cricket, and basketball, the victorious teams being each honoured With a photograph. Ihterestiiig photographs of the school are given and the clever sketches by one of the pupils are included in the lighter side ol the production. The commendable literary efforts including essays, poemS, and brief dissertations t on local topics adlj to the variety of the magazine, and display to advantage the ability of all the pupils. Much credit is due to Mr Black the Headmaster, who has acted as censor to the magazine committee, and to the pupils, whose combined efforts have resulted in the productioh of which* they may be proud.
