ROYAL VISIT

COAST PROGRAMME AMENDED. i NIGHT STOP AT WESTPORT. (Special to "Star.”) I AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. The amended itinerary of the Duke of. York affects the Coast as follows: — . Thursday, March 10, motor from Nelson through the Buller Gorge to Westport, where they stay the night. Friday March 11: Leave Westport, join train at Inangahua Junction and proceed, with a short stop at Reefton, to Hokitika, thence to Greymouth, where they stay the night. Saturday, March 12: Leave Greymouth and arrive at Christchurch in the evening. SOUTHLAND CHANGES. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 6. The Governor-General is advised that the Southern itinerary of the Duke of York is slightly amended, the rearrangement being due to the desire to make that portion of the tour a little less arduous than would have been possible under the original programme, which provided the Royal Party should spend the night of Thursday, * March 10, in Greymouth. This meant crowding into one day events now spread over March 11 as well. On his visit to the Southern Lakes, March 20 will be spent at Pembroke, in place of Queenstown, where the party will remain overnight and March .21, after a day on Lake Wakatipu, the proposed trip to Kingston being deleted. Finally .on Thursday, March 22, the party proceeds direct from Queenstown to Bluff. Formerly it had been proposed to spend the night of March 21 at Invercargill, but the new arrangement provides the train shall merely stop for a time at Invercargill, on the journey to Bluff oil Tuesday.
