Those who have had the work done are loud in their praises of the saving off labour effected by . tbe change, and they regret not having the work done earlier. In many cases where the wash ‘copper is not far from the gas meter, the cost is trifling. The outdoor staff of the' Gas Department are now busily engaged in Cobden, and residents there are notified that while the workmen with their gear are in their neighbourhood ,the work off installation can be done more-, cheaply, and where neighbours, combine to have the work done, the costs are often very low.
