At the Criminal Court, Percy William Davidson was found guilty of obtaining £9O from Lionel Percy Ford, of Hikurangi, New Zealand, with intent to defraud. The prosecution alleged that Davidson contracted to sell a thoroughbred three-year-old trotting filly, sired by the fastest pacer ever imported Into Australia, to Ford, for £BO. The latter cabled the money, and received in return for it a twenty-two year-old milk cart horse, valued at fifty shillings. Davidson stated, from the dock, that he had advertised the filly for sale. He knew where he could buy her, but .when he made the bargain with Ford,- he was unable to obtain •her, and purchased the other horse in a sale ring.
