“AN IMPUDENT ROGUE.” (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, November 30. “He seems to have been deliberately swindling his creditors by sending money to his father in Greece. A rogue like that doesn’t deserve any consideration at all; an impudent rogue at . that.” These were the remarks of Justice Sim, in respect to Constantine Sbu : maras, a bankrupt restaurant keeper. Soumaras who had applied for his discharge from bankruptcy at the previous sitting of the Court, appeared on this occasion in connection with an application made under Section 62 of the Bankruptcy Act, for an order for payment of money towards the discharge of his debts. ' Bankrupt, in a statement, claimed that pressure by certain creditors had caused the restaurant business to be sold at a loss. Bankrupt’s total debts were £llOO. The Judge ordered him to pay’ £1 a -week to the Official Assignee until he had paid a sum sufficient to satisfy all .the preferential claims and pay a dividend of 5s in the £ to ordinary creditors. The application for discharge was adjourned until Soumaras has coiriplied with the order.
