At the postponed Wellington athletic meeting this evening, the outstanding performance was that of Miss Nancy Eastwood (Gisborne), ’ who lowered Miss Maxwell’s New j Zealand record time of 11 4-ssecs. for ’ 100 yards by 1-5 of a second. Miss E. Porter (the present New Zealand champion) was unplaced, while Miss , R. Monton (Wellington) and Miss D. ’ Wilson (Gisborne) dead heated for second place. In the 100 yards club race, C. Jenkins was credited with doing evon time, although the track was Inclined to be heavy as the result of rain during the day. The Wellington ladies’ relay team, Misses Porter, F. Stevenson, R. Manton and S. Swinburne, who have equ tiled the world’s record of 49secs. f t the 440 yards, defeated the Gisborne team, Misses M. McDonald, W. Wilson, H. Hansen and N. Eastwood, by two yards, the time being 53secs. They withstood a challenge for- the Etaveneaux Cup. The 75 yards ladies’ handicap was won by Miss King (Wellington), with Misses Hansen and Eastwood fllJ.r.g second and third places respectively. C. Owen Poltridge (Gisborne), competing in the hundred yards open, was second in his heat, but was unplaced in the final.
