At the Newcastle races,. the Great Northern Cup resulted: —Gleam Boy (8.2) 1; Donald (8.10) 2; Tibble (8.2) 3. Seventeen started. Won by two lengths. Time 2.14. ENGLISH SEASON CLOSES. He is chiefly indebted to Coronach for winning him £ 3d, 000. Lord Derby won £35,428, Lord Astor £24,187, and Lord Rosebery £15,842. Lord Wolavington heads the breeders. The principal trainer is F. Darling, whose winners produced £63,400 in prize money. S. Wootton trained fifty-eight winners, which won 83 races and prize money amounting to £22 833. T.’Weston heads the jockeys with 95 winners.
