FORBURY PARK TROTS. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 26. The first day of the Forbury Park Spring Meeting was held in bad weather. The track was heavy, after overnight rain, followed by showers during the afternoon, and the times consequently were slow. The totalisator handled £18,666 against £24,372 on the first day last year. Peter Bingen and Trenand took up the running, and were in front over the first mile, when Downcast ran into second place. Peter Bingen, who was never headed, stayed on. well, and won by three lengths from Downcast, who beat Trenand by six lengths, with Menember next. Time 4.55 2-5. Caversham Handicap—2 Macaranda (Walsh) 1; 4 Colehill 2; I Homer 3. Also ran: 5 Some Wilkes, 3 Hoon Hay. Homer and Colehill made most of the running, until two "furlongs from home, when Macaranda went to the front and won by a short length, with Homer eight lengths away. Time 5.0 4-5. Dominion Handicap—l Engagement (Townley) 1; 5 Ingle Bingen 2, 3 Proud Ata 3. Alyso ran: 4 Audobel, . 2 Pete Peter. Won by two lengths.: third a length away. Pete Peter failed to handle the going. Time 4.59 2-5. After this race the stewards met to consider the galloping over a bigstretch of ground by the winner, but on hearing the evidence of the Stipendiary and Patrol Stewards, they decided not to alter the judge’s placings. Dash Handicap—l Ivy Audubon (Butterfield) 1; 2 Lady Embrace 2; 4 Four Bells 3. Also ran: 1 Bismurate (coupled -with winner); 3 Bing Boy. -Won easily by four lengths, three lengths' between second and third. Time 2.26 4-5.
