N.Z. COUNCIL MEETING. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 22. At its annual meeting, the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night adopted an Auckland remit that the rules for the Plunket Shield matches should be altered to allow Associations to include in their teams a professional coach, provided he had a bona fide intention of remaining in the district for not less than four months. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Sir Charles Fergusson; president, Mr F. Earl (Auckland) ; vice-

presidents, the Presidents of the affiliated Associations; management committee : Messrs D. Reese, E. R. Caygill, J. S. Barrett, A. T. Donnelly, and H. M. Taylor; hon. treasurer, Mr W. 11. Winsor; hon. secretary, Mr J. F. Peake; hon. auditor, Mr H. E. Byrne. It was agreed to appoint a Council Committee of three for the selection matches. It was agreed that Nelson should be associated with Wellington in Plunket Shield matches. Mr T. H. Bosword, writing from Australia to the New'Zealand Cricket Council, has offered to arrange a tour of N.S.W. public service team which would include some first-class players. The Council to-night rejected the offer, but added that there was nothing to prevent matches being arranged with individual associations.
