CONFERENCE DECISIONS. (Per Pres* Association.j DUNEDIN, March 4. The Methodist Conference granted status to Rev. E. S. Harkness dating from 1916, and gave permission to Rev. A. Peters to visit England during the year, and decided to appoint an assistant to the President, who shall be paid by a grant in equal proportions from the Home Mission and contingent funds. The Stationing Committee recommended that the following be the circuits to take ordained ministers in the following orderOpotiki, Inge wood, Hokitika and Eketahuna, The Conference appointed the Rev. M.- A. Rugby-Pratt as Connexional Secretary in succession to the Rev. SLawry. Mr Pratt will take over the office in 1927. The report of the Dunedin Central Mission was read by the Rev. W. Walker, superintendent of the Mission. The report stated that the trust debt had been reduced by £lOOO during the year. A tribute was paid to the work of the Rev. W. Walker in naval and military matters. The Rev. C. Olds .was appointed representative to th© northern command, Rev. C. Eaton to headquarters and the central command, and the Rev. W. Walker to the southern command. Mr Walker also holds the position of secretary to the Chaplains’ Board. Rev. S. Lawry presented the fire insurance report, which now possesses* assets amounting to £19,000. fund has been able materially to help other funds, amounting to £2,200 in seven years. The' Rev. S. Lawry was appointed authorised representative and custodian of deeds.
