OPERA-HOUSE. I At the Opera-House to-night the Selznick special attraction,( “Woman .to Woman,” starring Betty Compson, will be. shown again for the last time. A corking good picture is Goldwyn’s film version of Austin Strong’s sue-, cessful stage play, “Three Wise Fools,” coming on Wednesday to the Opera House. It has been directed by King Vidor, with all of his feeling for actuality. Its, story is that of three old bachelors, who agree to take charge of the grown daughter of the girl who had rejected the love of all three in their youth. . Comedy complications.. ensue, fast and furious and soon become interwoven in a series of dramatic in-, cidents which are solved happily for all concerned after the girl has been gaoled on a charge of aiding and abetting three criminals to break out. of prison. In support of the above big feature Beaumont Smith’s splendid Australian production, ‘‘The Prehistoric Haysedds, ”■ a five reel comedy, made for laughing purposes only, so all should come along and enjoy a good laugh. DENIS KEHOE’S RETURN. Tripping merrily to the sound of music and laughter come Denis Kehoe and his merry associates in his new play, “Away, in Athlone,” a dramatic offering by the same author as, “Mother Machree,” and bringing, a breath of the same sweet old-time quaintness of dressing and plot. The retainers of old Castle O’Moore are awaiting the arrival oi the new squire, who is coming to claim his inheritance after a> long sojourn abroad. Grasper Garry, the steward' of the property, has learned that his new master is a bachelor, and I compels his daughter Virginia to en- ’ deavour to trap the young man into marriage, so that his own misappropriations may hot get him ihtb trouble when an accounting into his stewardship takes place. In the meantime that young man, unknown to those at Castle O’Moore, has persuaded his friend, who accompanies him,. to pose as the young squire, so that he may be enabled to see for himself how his property has been managed under Garry’s rule. Danger threatens his promised wife and her father, for they are in Garry’s debt, and on the very day of his return are to be turned out of their home, unless the money due to Garry be not forthcoming. The young maaster in his attempt to outwit Garry, assumes the disguise of one Mullane, a jackal of the steward. Herein his skill as an actor is so comcomplete that it deceives Garry himself, so much so that the unscrupulous steward actually plots with the man he intends to rob and, if necessary, murder to cover his own villainy.

The box plan lor the performance of “Away In Athlone,” which will take place on February 8 and 9, is now open at Webley's. »
