No true daughter of Eve can possibly resist the charm of silk stockings, respite the mahy. attacks made on them. Quality varies according to the wearer’s purse, but every selfrespecting female wears silken hose! To the average girl ,the appearance of a ladder- in a much loved pail’ of stockings is little short of a tragedy, and there are few of us who can afford to have these ladders repaired by experts. Suspenders are nearly always responible for the ladders which ruin sb many stockings ,and if you wear suspenders, never pull them tight. It is a good plan to machine two rows of stitching about an eighth of an ifich apart round the stockings just below where the suspenders are fastened. Stretch the stocking to its fullest extent while machining to a\|oid a Hight Jine, and remember that the success of this little dodge depends entirely upon setting the machine to its finest stitch. To lengthen the life of your stockings never wear a new pair without soaking the-feet in and you will find they quickly rub into holes. Many a little chorus girl knows the value of rinsing her stockings through overnight, Just wash the feet with soap and water, and you will find that they wlil last very much longer. One last tip, never dry your*? 1 stockings in a hot sun, or with a hot iron, and if you want them to look their silkiest, rinse them always in cold water.
