BOWLING
BRITISH PARTY’S VISIT
The British bowlers and party will arrive at Greymouth from Christchurch this afternoon, and will be tendered a civic reception by the Mayor (Mr. W. H. Parfitt) at the station. They will also be welcomed by Mr. J. Ring and others on behalf of the district bowling clubs. To-morrow afternoon, the visitors, if the weather is favourable, will be taken for a motor ride.
On Monday they will play an eight rinks against the Greymquth (4) Runanga (2) and Hokitika Clubs (2), on the Greymouth greep, play commencing at 2 p.m. Coast players are to be on the green at .1.30 pan. The publiq are invited to attend the match. Afternoon tea will be served, All members of the .Greymquth Club are asked to prbvide a “plate,” as-a large is expected.
On Monday evening, the British party have been invited to the pictures at the Opera House. They will leave for Westport on Tuesday. WEST COA&T TOURNAMENT The annual tournament of the West Coast Centre of the N.Z. Bowling Association will be held at Westport from Monday February 8, to Thursday 11. Rinks competition only will be played, for which the following are the entries.:—
