Tenders for the sanitary contract were received from C. E. Sparkes £4O per month, J. Taylor £3l 10s per month. On the motion of Cr unison, seconded by Or Blank, the tender of C. E. Sparkes was accepted. Tenders for removal of house refuse were received from A. Detluff, £ll per month, AV. White £B. it was decided not to accept any tender, but to employ 7 the Borough dr a y for the work, it being considered that the quantity of refuse to collect would be very little. Tenders for the purchase of offal from the Abattoirs for five years were received from AV. O’Brien (Kokatahi) £7O per annum ; T. M.- Staines £6O per annum.
