MEAT PRODUCERS
ELECTION TO BOARD.
An advertisement in the advertising columns to-day dealing with, the election of three producers’, representatives on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. The regulations under which the election is conducted provide that the various districts shall elect twenty-five delegates who will constitute an electoral committee which will, assemble in August and 1 elect the producers’ representatives. In view of the requests from producers and to promote further interest in the election, the Board has reduced the size of the various electoral districts so that this year there are ten districts instead of six as was the case last year. This will result in the candidates being known by a greater proportion ol the electors of the district.
The latest official sheep returns which at present are those at 30th April, 1924) .shall be the electoral roll. Every sheep-owner on this list having one hundred sheep or over, shall'be. entitled to vote for delegates to the electoral committee. Nominations for delegates on the electoral committee or for producers’ representatives, may be made by any two sheep-farmers appearing on the official sheep returns as owning not less than one hundred sheep. Forms of nominations are obtainable at the Board’s office, Wellington. Nominations for delegates to the electoral committee will be received at the Board’s Office, Wellington, up to noon on July 16, whilst nominations for producers’ icpresentatives on the Board will be received up io noon on August 13. Tn accordance with the provisions Jf the Meat Export Control Act, the nienibers of the Board, who are to re. tiru in August, are Messrs J. C. N. Grig". Longbeach; J. S. Jessop, \Vairoa: and W. Perry, Mastertcn. These gentlemen offer themselves for re-elec-tion as producers’ representatives on the Board.
