ANNIVERSARY PROCEEDINGS FASCISTI ATTACK SOCIALISTS (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association? LONDON, June 28. Three hundred British Fascist! displaying a Union Jack marched up to a Socialist meeting at Hyde Park, this afternoon, and drowned the speakers’ voices, by singing .the National Anthem and “Land of Hope and Glory.” They paid no heed to the Socialists’ request to desist whereupon the Socialists rushed, and tore down the Union Jack. A crowd Of tWo thousand assembled and encouraged combatants and a score of police were unable to stop the fighting, ... which continued till mounted police arrived. AT RUNNYMEDE. ( Seven thousand people this afternoon including processions of clergy, boy scouts, and friendly societies assembled at Runnymede to commemorate the signing of Magna Charta. Speeches,were made by Bishop J. H. Darlington, (New York) and Sir Joseph Cook, after which the whole assembly in unison said: “We, praise thee, 0 God, for the great deed seven hundred years ago, whereby the laws and liberti.es of,this realm were defended against tyranny, and „victory won for freedom and justice.”
