Prior., to his departure by aeroplane from Rabat Al. Painleve issued a state, menf. emphasising the soundness, ol the French militaiw position in AJoroceo. He announced that it was intended to send links and to reinforce the Air Force. He admitted that the Riff enemy was pugnacious and was ready for any sort of a coup, but said that the Riffs possessed tew guns and machine guns.
