It is stated that at the Alaiylebone Club’s request, Hubert Ashton' is returning from abroad to captain the English eleven in the 1926 tests. COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP. LONDON, June 12. Sussex in the first innings made 255 (Bowley 71), and in the second 179 (Brown taking 7 for 60), against Hampshire, whose first innings realised 12:4 (Wensley - taking 4 for 37), and the second 184 (Mead not out 76), Tate taking 7 for 44. Sussex won by 126 I’IUIS.
Cambridge in the first innings scored 305 (Bennett 75, Francis 71) and in one second 130, (L. Crawley 55), Richmond taking 6 for 55 and Staples 4 for 40), against Notts, whose first innings realised 445 (Lilley 65, Richmond 59, Payton, not out 140). Notts won by an innings and ten runs. For Yorkshire against Gloucester, Leyland scored 131 (not out). Yorkshire won. For Lancashire, against Glamorgan, AlacDonald took 5 for 38, and R. Tyl. desley 5 for 35, in the ferst innings and AlacDonald took 5 for 59 in the second. Hallows made 108. For Glamorgan, Alercer took 6 for 52. Lancashire won. For Kent, against Leicester. Harding made 131, and Ashdown 108. Free, unan took 6 for 51. Kent won. Playing for Aliddlesex against Wor. cester, Hendren made 234. Haig took five wickets for 100. Aliddlesex won. Northampton against Derby made 131. Hillwood took 6 for 74 in the first innings, and Horsley 6 for 66 in the second. Derby won.
