(Our Own Correspondent). REEFTON, May 23. At the Reefton Coal Aline, Mr S. Hunt sustained a. severe accident that will lay him aside for some time. Ho ivas working a face when a fall of coal oceprred and knocked him down. Before he could recover sufficiently to get clear a further fail took place which injured a leg and crushed one of his feet rather badly. He was removed to towh for medical treatment. Mrs AV. Kerr, of Glenburnie, returned from Wellington by last evening’s train. Last evening the members of the committee of the Reelion Jockey Club at the conclusion of their regular meeting presented Air J. B. Discaciati with a liandsome inscribed oak clock. The Chairman, in making the presentation, congratulated Air Discaciati on entering the ranks of the benedicts and. wished him and his wife happiness and prosperity and expressed the hope that his changed state would not affect his interest in the welfare of the club. .He eulogised Air Discaciati’s past services to the club. Air Discaciati suitably responded.
