EMPIRE PAGEANT
THE EDUCATIONAL VALUE.

With Prince Arthur of Connaught presiding, Pageant Master Frank Lascelles was banquetted by the Committee of the Empire Pageant and by performers, chieflly Australians and New Zealanders.. Prince Arthur described the pageant as worthy of the Empire. He referred to the achievement of Pageant Master Lasc.elles in the case of Canada, South Africa and India, and paid a tribute to the 15,000 voluntary performers who had braved the rigour of a British summer. Pageant Master Lascelles emphasised the educational value of the Pageant, and its stimulating interests in Empire news and communication.
Mr. Lunn, Secretary for Overseas’ Trade, also dwelt on the enormous educational value of the Pageant, which he described as a wonderful achievement in Empire history. He added that the Labour Party was developing an Imperial policy which would strengthen the bonds of the Empire more than anything else hitherto had done.
