LUXOR TOMBS
A t’ETE DAY. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, March 7. A Luxor correspondent reports that Tutankhamen’s tomb was reopened, when two hundred distinguished guests, including Lord Al-
lenby, the Egyptian Minister and Foreign Diplomats were admitted as guests of the Egyption Government to view the old - covered coffin. The guests ’travelled in special trains. The elaborate ceremonies included the slaying of two bulls as a sacrifice in the centre of Luxor, as was customary in the days of the Pharoah. The streets were decorated. A banquet in the evening was followed by a fete and fireworks. Neither Mr. Carter nor his staff were present.
