INANGAHUA
HOSPITAL BOARD (Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, July 26. The monthly meeting of the Inangahua Hospital Board was held at the Council Chambers, Reefton, last evening. Present: Messrs M. Fagan (Chair), J. B. Auld, F. Seawright, J. O’Regan, I. Paine, L. Bell, G. Mclnroe.
The Chairman said the influenza reports from other places were somewhat alarming. He considered the'y should be prepared. Ho moved that the Reefton Jockey Club be written to asking for the use of their refreshment rooms for isolation of influenza patients if required. Mr. Auld seconded. —Carried. The Buller Hospital Board, re Maruia Hot Springs, wrote stating the Board could not see its way to fall into line. —Received. T. Thorne, Waiuta, forwarded £37 10s, Medical Association contribution and £1 15s, other contributions. — Received.
The Medical Superintendent’s report stated: Patients admitted 8, discharged 6, died nil, remaining in 30, operation 1, outpatients 4, attendance on outpatients 4, operation 1. The Chairman commented on Dr. Scott’s illness. He stated he had visited the Medical Superintendent and was informed that, he was endeavouring to obtain a locum tenons. Dr. Conlon had offered assistance until a relieving doctor arrived. The Matron, Waiuta Nurses’ Homo reported: Admitted 3, descharged 3, remaining 1, outpatients treated 26, attendances during month 118, homes visited 5. The action of the Chairman in renting a cottage lor an old age pensioner was endorsed. The receipts for the month amounted to £665 Is 6d. Accounts amounting to £366 9s lOd wore passed for payment.
