DIVORCE CASE

WATERSIDER’S PETITION. In. the Supreme Court this morning, before Mr. Justice Adams Emmanuel Olsen, wharf, labourer, petitioned for a divorce from his wife Amy O’lsen, Robert Gill being named as a co-re-spondent. Mr. W. J. Joyce, for the petitioner asked leave to withdraw the claim for costs. This was granted. The petitioner produced his marriage certificate issued at Kumara in 1906. He said that there were four children of the marriage. His wile left him about February 20, 1920 and went away with Gill. She admitted living with co-respondent. When witness went to the house where the respondent and co-respondent lived, respondent brought in a child about ten days old and said to them present in the room “'What do you think of our darkey?” She had just recovered from her confinement in which she had given birth to the child. The birth was registered as illegitimate. Alter supporting evidence had been given by Mrs Phillipa Potts, a decree nisi was granted, to be mado absolute in three months. Costs were allowed on the lowest scale against co-respondent.
