BACCHANALIAN SCENES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY,, June 16. The “Daily Telegraph,” describing a round of visits paid to city wine bars, says: Despite improvements and the sweep away of many abuses since 6 o’clock closing became operative, these saloons are without a glossing point. They are working a great deal of harm among women and girls. The paper describes the bacchanalian scenes in which drunken women and girls participated.
