HECTOR TRAGEDY

■ DEATH FOLLOWS PRIVATIONS. (Per Press Association.) CARTERTON, June 16. The missing man, Kime, was found yesterday afternoon by Mr. F. W. Vosseler within twenty minutes of the top of Mount Hector, alive and well, considering the privations and exposure he had endured. He was on the sunny side of the mountain in the locality known as “The Beehives.” He had plenty of food, but no blankets or coverings, except his ordinary clothes. Word was brought into Greytown by Mr. G- B. Brown. Vosseler and Kime spent the night at the Alpha hut. LATER. A “Daily News” special report at 6 o’clock to-night states : Kime died at Mount Alpha. Hut at 7 o’clock last night, six hours after he was found. F. W. Vosseler brought the body to Tauherenikau Hut, and left there at 1 p.m., arriving at Woodside at 4.35. Later the body was brought to Greytown, where an inquest will be held. The rescue party have all arrived at Greytown.
