Stewards’ Stakes of 225 sovs. ; 1 mile —Queen’s Up (9.9) 1, Haurangi (9.13) 2, Kareao (10.1) 3. Also started —Kilrush, Hepta, Lord Muskerry’, Bodyguard, Suspicion, Antler and Kail. Won by a length. The Ascot Gold Cup resulted as follows :— Golden Myth ... ... 1 Flamboyant ... ... 2 Bally heron ... ... 3 Golden Myth was ridden by Elliott, Flamboyant by Lister, and Halit heron by Cai slake.
