COBDEN NOTES

CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW.

The business before the committee of the Cobden Chrysanthemum Show, at a meeting held on Monday evening last, was the consideration of the balancesheet for the show. The gross takings were £BO 6s 6d, with expenses £l2 4s 6d. The committee were well pleased with the result. The display of blooms was much finer than at any previous show. A number of new stalls were added, and financially it was the most successful show yet held locally. The increased interest in the growing of chrysanthemums is encouraging, and there are promises of further interest next year. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to all who assisted in the preparatons for the show; and to the Secretary (Mr L. East) for his valuable

help. Appended are the remainder of the prize-winners, whose names have not yet been published: — DOMESTIC SECTION. Judge: Mr Herb, Moore. Ginger Bread. —-Mrs Johnstone 1, Mrs Millar h.c.
