BOWLING
GREYMOUTH CLUB PAIRS. The final for the Greymouth Club Competition Pairs was played yesterday afternoon in fine weather. The green was in excellent order. The winners, Messrs AV. Graham and C. Skoglund (s.) on the day’s play proved too strong lor their opponents, Messrs Armstrong and W. Blair (s.). Both winners played a good solid game and a very carefid one, for when they got a shot anywhere handy to the jack they then played for position, with the result that it was very hard for their opponents to get more than one; in fact only on one occasion was there a chance to skip Blair to get a haul, and (although he was lying the shot at the time), by taking the jack through the ditch with his last ball ho would have scored seven or eight. He played a good shot for it, and struck the •ack, but did not get it fair, and the head was burnt. Although the score on the 21st head showed 25 to 7 this hardly indicates the play, as each head right through was well contested, and nearly every shot altered the position. This game ended the club competitions for the season 1921-22.
