HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING. (From our Correspondent.) REEFTON, March 24/ Th o ordinary monthly meeting was held on Thursday evening. Present: Messrs AV. Irving (chair), 51. .lagan, H. Betts, G. B. Mclndoe, D. MeVicar, J. O’Regan, 1. Paine, T. R. Watson'. From T. W. Bannan, stating that the ground at Waauta hospital could not be ploughed until tho stumps were grubbed out. Mr. O’Regan moved that the matter of payment on Borough contract stand in abeyance until a copy of tho contract for clearing the ground was produced and persused by the Board, and that the committee be asked to forward an estimate of the cost of the work. Seconded by 51 r. Betts and yarried. From Department of Health, Wellington, stating that certain hospitals had been taken over from the Military Department, and was now available to the public for nervous and otliei complaints and enclosing scale of fees. —Received. From T. H. A. Valintine, re'superpropped sanatorium for Consumptives in Central Otago and that a conteiencg would be held at Timaru in May. No action taken. From County Clerk, Reefton, stating that Engineer had been instructed" to report on the Board’s application for water power for lighting purposes at Reefton Hospital. From T. 11. A. Valentine, re superannuation fund for hospital, and asking for particulars. —Received. From M. Finley, New Zealand Defence Forces, asking why the Board does not supply medicine at hospital rates. The secretary stated that the medicine had been supplied by Scott. Resolved that after consulting the medical superintendent, Ihe Board considers the charge a reasonable one. From N.Z. From Inangahua County Clerk, notifying that D. McVicar had been appointed member of Hospital Board. Received. From a patient of hospital, asking that th G Board accept £1 per week in full payment of ices.
