Air Andrew Fisher (ex-Australian 1 Premier), speaking at the Scottish Home Rule Association’s meeting in Glasgow, said : “Scottish interests are not now being served by the Imperial Parliament. The meeting passed a resolution affirming that Irish Home Rule necessitates Scottish Home. Rule immediately. Afessrs Duncan Graham and Neil McLean (members of the House of Commons). supported the resolution. Mr Robert Munro (Chief Secretary for Scotland in the Government) wrote stating : that lie sincerely sympathised with the 1 principle of Scottish Home Rule. LONDON. Alarch 23. In the House of Lords. Lord Peel I moved an amendment to Hie Irish Bill, making it clear that the month in which Lister con contract herself out- of the Irish Treaty would operate from (he sanctioning of the Free State Constitution, and not from the passing of Hie Bill. The amendment was agreed to by the House. The report stage of the Bill has now been concluded. The third reading debate was adjourned s until Afonday, at Lord Carson’s request , for time for him to consult his friends in [ Ulster regarding Lord Peel’s amendment,• which, he says, will have “most grave r results.” ’ IRISH GOVERNMENT VOTE. PASSED BY COAIAIONS. LONDON, Alarch 23. Tn the House of Commons the Government proposed a vote lor £1.3C0.C00 lor miscellaneous services to be administered bv the Provisional Government of Ireland. Colonel Newman complained that the financial arrangements with the Sum bein Government had been detrimental to Loyalists in Southern Ireland in relation to a settlement of claims by them lor compensation. | Air Churchill said: “Britain should not pav for damage that has been done in Ireland by her people, as a bargain there had not been observed. .
