Mr. Sinclair returns from Hokitika ithis evening. Mr. Pow and. Mr. Evans arrived Irom Reefton to-day. Mr.. Walsh arrived yesterday from Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. Harman arrived from Christchurch' by yesterday’s exprew#. Mr. R.~ Girling-Butcher will arrive from Wellington to-morrow. Mr. and Mrs. Bowman arrived from Reefton last evening. Mr. John Halpin for many years a resident of Totara Flat will leave for Christchurch to-morrow morning. Mr. E. ’ W. Sharp, representing Mauri Bros, and Thompson, Sydney, arrived from Christchurch yesterday. Miss L. Rouse, of Petone, arrived by yesterday’s express and is spending a short jgoliday with Mrs. Rowe, Junction Hotel, Dillmanstown. Mr. S. Clay, manager for Newman Bros, motor service, is on a business visit to Greymouth. Hb returns to Reefton this evening. Mr. S. B. Bolt, supervisor, Government Insurance Department, arrived by the Otira express last evening on a visit of inspection to the AVest Coast districts. He is staying at Reva> & ton’s Hotel. Mr. R. Currie, for many years a resident of Ahaura, and now in the Bay of Plenty, is renewing acquaintances on the Coast. He is at present the guest of Mr. and Mrs. 11. Gilmer, Totara Flat. Mr. Louis H. Victory, a journalist well known in New Zealand, returned to Wellington by the Corinthic after an absence of over five years, during which he worked at his profession in England, Scotland and Ireland. He was a sub-editor on the “Cork Examiner” during the worst period of “flie terror” in that city, and had some exciting experiences. A Palmerston North telegram states that Miss M. A pretty wedding was solemnises at St. Paul’s Church yesterday, by the Rev. B. J. James, when Air. J l . O’Donnell, of Paroa. and Miss TL Markland, of Lancashire, England, were joined in the bonds of holy matrimony. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. J. 31 arkland, wore a white silk dress trimmed with pearls, and white hat io match. The bride’s sister was bridi smaid, and Mr. A. Holt best man. Airs. James officiated at the organ and as the bridal party left, the Church, played the Wedding March. At the conclusion of the service at Crushington on Tuesday evening a soial hour was spent in saying farewell to Rev. Sir. Alilgrew and his wife. .Songs and recitations were rendered by the children and adults. A few. words were spoken by Air. A. P. Watson, chairman, regretting Air. and Airs Milgrew leaving the. district and especially C'rushington, where they have been so much, liked.
